I found out today that  Adam “MCA” Yauch, a founding member of the Beastie Boys, died after a nearly three-year battle with cancer. Many people probably wont understand why a blog dedicated to Hardcore music cares…..but that is because a vast majority of Beastie Boy’s fans had no idea that they started out as a Hardcore Punk band that just wanted to be like the Bad Brains.

The Beastie Boys were probably the FIRST hip-hop i ever listened to as a kid. And the reason i found them was through hardcore. Its a very sad day for music because they left a huge imprint on hip-hop weather you agree or not.

YOU WILL BE MISSED MCA.
