Sleep paralysis is a feeling of being conscious but unable to move. It occurs when a person passes between stages of wakefulness and sleep. During these transitions, you may be unable to move or speak for a few seconds up to a few minutes. Some people may also feel pressure or a sense of choking. People frequently report feeling a ‘presence’ that is often described as malevolent, threatening, or evil. An intense sense of dread and terror is very common. The presence is likely to be vaguely felt or sensed just out of sight but thought to be watching or monitoring, often with intense interest, sometimes standing by, or sitting on the bed. On some occasions, the presence may attack, strangling and exerting crushing pressure on the chest.
Sleep paralysis usually occurs at one of two times. If it occurs while you are falling asleep, it’s called hypnagogic or predormital sleep paralysis. If it happens as you are waking up, it’s called hypnopompic or postdormital sleep paralysis.

This happened to me not too long ago when I was trying to wake up…there’s more to my personal story but I don’t want to entertain the thoughts before I go sleep.

I’m happy I’ve never experienced this.

This has been happening to me a lot for the pass 2 years, which is why I laugh when you dumb hipster kids be on that ” I’M GOING TO TRY THIS TONIGHT ” type shit.

Shit is frightening.

Soon as I seen this picture on my dash I knew what this was. Took me forever to find the name of it. I thought I was the only one who experienced it or that I was crazy or something. This is definitely the scariest thing ever! I swear I saw a demon and I felt like I couldn’t breathe. I have friends who want to try this too smh. I pray every night it doesn’t happen again.

This explains one morning i woke up as if i was heavy and couldnt move as if someone had my pinned down when i went to talk i couldnt make a noise as if i was being smothered. and everything started to fade. I seriously thought I was passing away. Then all of a sudden after maybe 20 seconds I gained movement again and i wasnt sure if i had just conviently woken up from a dream in the same position i left it or if i actually had experienced it.
